Knitting content included

I’ve spent most of my afternoon at the local mall with my younger daughter and some of her friends. Which translated to some intense knitting time for me because the kids are kind of at that awkward stage where they think that they are old enough to hang out on their own, but I am mega uncomfortable letting a bunch of 12 year olds loose to their own devices for an extended period of time. So I go hang out, they have to check in periodically, and they know that I am there if they need me. I remember my parents doing something similar, except that it was usually just my sister and I hanging out.

It also gave me the opportunity to get some coffee without having to hunt through the mess of cookie and cake baking that certain unmentionable children left in the kitchen. As much as I hate shopping as a rule, I never look the chance to have coffee by myself as a bad thing.

It’s been pretty stormy around these parts the last couple of days. The trees that were full of autumn splendor just last weekend are now for the most part bare. I think that a good majority of them are hanging out in my yard. I suppose that I shall have to do something about that in the morning. If it isn’t still raining.
