Just that. A moment of whimsy when it was least expected.

I’m almost caught up with my 365 photos, I thought about not blogging this evening and then realized that I would be having to do way more photo’s than I would like to tomorrow. So one more day of photo catch up and then it will be back to business as usual.

This wasn’t one of my 365 pictures, but I went out for coffee this afternoon with my brother and his son. My nephew doesn’t sit still for long, so this is the perfect capture of my favourite little imp.

There is a newly redone grocery store right around the corner from the skate park, where the previous photo was taken. There is such a plethora of interesting artwork that I think that I shall have to return there often to play with angles, lighting and photo techniques. This could be the beginning of a lot of fun and inspiration.

I love this creative use for paperclips!
Today was the second day in a row that we were at the gym, watching gymnastics and breathing chalk dust. The girls did well, and as always it was fun to watch.

The best part was realizing that Shann cn pick up and keep going after making a mistake. It wasn’t that she couldn’t do it before, but the error was always reflected in her face, the effort of fighting off tears was evident. Today that didn’t happen. In my book that counts as a win.

65/365 Painty's Gift
Yesterday I received the nicest gift from Laura at the Unique Sheep. The orangish colour isn’t something that I would have chosen for myself, but I absolutely love it! Thank you Laura for such a thoughtful gesture. It makes me smile every time I look at it and I love it wearing it.
In the mass last ditch effort to get things organized around here before my surgery, I have misplaced more things than one would think possible. Patterns. Bills. The charger for my camera battery.
I probably have misplaced my mind as well, but that would require thinking. I am trying not to do too much of that at the moment either, because it is starting to hit that this isn’t going to be easy.
At least the weather has been absolutely beautiful. I spend a bit of time outside today getting some yard work done. It was worth every moment.
Springtime came early this year.

59/365 Sunlit
We spent the afternoon out in the sun, enjoying the breeze off of Puget Sound. Frisbees and horseshoes were tossed, balls thrown and retrieved and a good time was had by all those involved.
In this case it was the Husbeast, the girls, a couple of the Husbeast’s sisters and a niece and nephew or two.
It is Sunday night and once again I am left wondering where the weekend went. We spent the weekend doing just normal things since we didn’t have a gymnastics meet. We walked the dogs, took the kids out to lunch, worked on household chores and suddenly the weekend just evaporated into Sunday evening.

The Brandywine shawl is done, just waiting for blocking, I am kind of stalled on my Ginny sweater, the socks I started are on a temporary time out. So what’s a knitter to do?

blanket time
I chose to dive into some sock yarn blanket knitting.
I am having technical difficulties getting my pictures uploaded for a decent post, so I apologieze profusely. I am finding it quite frustrating.
In addition to finishing Brandywine, I now have the back of my sweater, one front and one and a half cuffs of my sweater done. I am hoping that I can I can get all the pieces done, blocked and put together by the end of the Olympics.
When I get home every evening, I am often pinned down by this critter:

49/365 Love mommy, my mommy
Despite that particular critter’s dubious help, I manage to get a bit done. Tonight I finished the knitting on the Brandywine Shawl. I increased the repeats on chart B by two and still have a little bit of yarn left. It is difficult to determine if I have enough left to have added one more repeat. I think it might have been possible, but it would have been close.
I am home again after a wonderful weekend with fibery friends at Madrona. It was fun to see people and to be inspired by so many things. I am trying to get my head around the fact that I have to re-enter reality in the morning by actually going to work.
So briefly, here are my latest two photos for the 365 project.
