A bit of wandering

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

I feel as if I have been wandering around in circles
Trying to figure which way I have gone
And which way that I am going.
The closer I seem to get to where I am going,
The farther away I become.

Slight delay

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Today’s photo of the day as well as an update will be slightly delayed due to technical difficulties. I will say however, that the sojourn in sleeve island is almost over!

Signs of spring

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

It is amazing the difference in a few short weeks. This tree was just barely budding a couple of weeks ago, now look at it! Next time I take a look it will probably have leaves and everything.

Speaking of spring green, after my failed attempt at the Skew sock, I am back to working on my Ginny sweater. Since the Olympics is all about the challenge for me and there is a very real possibility that I may not get all of the pieces done and put together by the time that the Olympic Flame is extinguished, I am attempting to knit both sleeves at the same time, in the round so that I have a few less seams to stitch together in the end.

I hope that I can keep everything straight and not totally mess this up!

Hitting the Frog Pond

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

I really wanted this pattern to work. It has been fun to knit (at least it was once I got over my initial inability to read the directions) and despite the row upon row of stockinette stitch, it kept my attention.

Sadly it is not a match made in heaven. It might have worked with a different yarn choice or slightly larger needles. But it isn’t going to work with the yarn I started with. So it is off to the frog pond. I’m going back to the sweater project.

Love mommy, my mommy

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

When I get home every evening, I am often pinned down by this critter:

Despite that particular critter’s dubious help, I manage to get a bit done. Tonight I finished the knitting on the Brandywine Shawl. I increased the repeats on chart B by two and still have a little bit of yarn left. It is difficult to determine if I have enough left to have added one more repeat. I think it might have been possible, but it would have been close.

Here is my progress. So fun and pretty.

Madrona!

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

I’m at Madrona Fiber Arts thing in Tacoma, sitting in the lobby, working on my sweater, drinking a glass of wine. It is wonderful to be surrounded by my knitting friends and I am very much enjoying the moment.

So much in fact that I think I shall delay posting today’s photos until tomorrow!

Spring Green

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

Progress has been made on several fronts today. A dear friend of mine from long ago college days came over to help with Operation Declutter. I picked her up from the ferry this morning, we stopped for coffee, some lunch supplies and various container type things, then dove into the fray. By the end of the day , not only had we sent quite a bit off to donation land, but we had washed two sets of curtains, washed the corresponding windows and mapped out a game plan for some of the rest of it.

I was quite happy to get some knitting time at the end of the day. Watching my girls sit down and play some games together made me happy too.

I did find myself very envious of this guy who seemed to be able to sleep through all the commotion.
