Back to meandering. It’s a time to be thankful, but there are days where I just don’t feel that way. So how do I take a step back and evaluate, to find something, anything to appreciate in it’s fullest. I am reminded of something that I heard in the sermon yesterday. Find one thing, no matter how small. Hold it in your heart and whisper thankfulness. Concentrate on that one small thing and let it be your thankful for the day.

My thankful moment for the day was small. I found a moment to blog.

I’m back from my trip south, glad to be home and trying to get back into the work mindset. But for now, I’m going to sleep. Good night!

It’s been a busy weekend. Yesterday A friend and I travelled north to have lunch with a friend I the helped a friend prepare her mother’s apartment for post hip replacement habitation. It was an opportunity to reconnect with girlfriends from high school, to laugh and talk and enjoy the time we spent together .

I am thankful for each of these amazing women. Our paths have diverged, then converged again. As our children have grown we have shared laughter and frustration, challenges and triumphs. All of our parents have aged, some of them have passed on, but knowing that there is someone else who is going through similar circumstances gives me strength and hope that I can keep going forward through anything.

I am so grateful for these friendships that have endured through the years. Thanks so much, you know who you are…

It’s been a long day. I’m not going to deny it, it has been a very long day. I’m calling it an early night. Sweet dreams.

Seriously? This was in my mailbox this morning. Note the date it was sent.

Wasn’t Veteran’s Day last Friday?

All my life I have been surrounded by music. My mother majored in music when she went to college, and I learned to appreciate classical music at an early age. While at the time I didn’t exactly love the years of piano lessons, or playing the clarinet for that matter, I do appreciate the opportunities that I had as a child.

As a result, I have quite the eclectic taste in music. My children probably think that I might be a bit deranged in the music department because I even like some of the stuff that they listen to, but then again I have caught them rocking out to the popular music that I grew up with. While they don’t exactly share my love for bagpipes, I’m glad that we agree on some things!

So that begs the question, what music feeds your soul and why?

The new Twist Collective is up! So many beautiful patterns. I can’t begin to decide what pattern I like best. Is it , with an oh so subtle stitch motif at the neckline. Or Calliope which just plain intrigues?

Then there is Bellevue. It looks like the perfect go to sweater for winter.

I could go on and on. What are your favourites? While I am waiting for a call back from the auto repair shop, I think that reading through the Twist Collective is much more delightful, than trying to deal with the reality of my poor car being hit twice since the middle of August.

Another Monday. I have been contemplating staring up my Monday Morning Meanderings again, but my writing mojo seems to be on hiatus. I’m not sure if anyone really reads this anyway.

It really isn’t about the readership. It’s about my corner for creativity. And I need to own that corner.

Today we started puppy school. With one dog this would be a piece of cake, but integrating a puppy into an established pack makes things a little more challenging. Puppy training classes are more about training the owners. Trying to keep all of the human members of this family in line however, may prove to be a bit more challenging.

Meanwhile, I have started a pair of socks. The Nanny by Janine Le Cras. The pattern is pretty easy, and love the little button detail down the side. Pictures will be following soon!
